A specialty insurance organization is seeking a Senior Catastrophe Risk Manager to support catastrophe modeling, portfolio risk analysis, and event response across multiple lines of business. This role partners closely with underwriting, analytics, and operations teams to deliver actionable risk insights.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Run catastrophe models using RMS and AIR
- Prepare and validate exposure data
- Produce portfolio risk metrics (PML, AAL, exposed limits, tail risk)
- Build and maintain SQL-based reports and automation tools
- Support catastrophe event response with exposure and loss estimates
- Maintain capacity tracking dashboards and reporting
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of catastrophe modeling or portfolio risk experience
- Hands-on experience with RMS and/or AIR Touchstone
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets
- Ability to support real-time catastrophe event response
- Strong communication skills
PREFERRED
- Python or R for automation and analysis
- Knowledge of reinsurance structures and portfolio risk metrics
- Experience with cloud analytics platforms (e.g., Azure Databricks)
- Alteryx or similar workflow automation tools
- Geospatial data experience
